Kjell-Morten Myhr

Kjell-Morten Myhr is a Professor of Neurology and Vice-Rector at the University of Bergen for the term 2025 – 2029. His areas of responsibility are research, innovation and collaboration.

Prior to his role as Vice-Rector, Kjell-Morten Myhr was the research center director for Neuro-SysMed, a research center for clinical treatment and coordinator of a Horizon Europe project focusing on treatment and prevention of multiple sclerosis (MS). He is a professor of neurology and has served as head of the National Competence Center for MS (2001–2013) and the Norwegian MS Registry and Biobank (2001–2017), as well as head of the Department of Clinical Medicine 1 (K1) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen (2017–2022).

Myhr has also been a board member of the Norwegian Neurological Association (2014–2018) and was the center director for the first KG Jebsen research center (2010–2015) with a focus on MS. He has participated in initiatives to promote the university’s policies for young researchers and has extensive experience in recruiting students and young researchers for career development at the University of Bergen.
