Kristine Spildo

Kristine Spildo is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Bergen (UiB). In her role as Vice Dean for Climate and Energy Transition at UiB, she has worked to develop and promote interdisciplinary research related to these fields across the university’s faculties and in collaboration with external organisations.

Professor Spildo has extensive experience in interdisciplinary energy research, spanning enhanced oil recovery and the development of carbon-free energy carriers. Her background includes roles in the energy industry, the research institute sector, and academia.

Her current research focuses on energy transition and renewable energy, with particular emphasis on hydrogen and ammonia as energy carriers. She serves on the board of Energy2050, appointed by the Norwegian Ministry of Energy, which develops Norway’s national research and innovation strategy on emission-free energy, petroleum, CCS, and deep-sea minerals. She also serves on the board of the National Centre for Hydrogen Value Chain Research (FME HyValue).
